Rex Brown, of Durant, Okla. passed from this life on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 at the age of 65. He was born on Thursday, March 20, 1956 in Durant, Oklahoma to Tom and Margie (Thornton) Brown.
Rex was a longtime resident of Durant, Okla., a graduate of Durant High School and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Rex’s life long passion of caring for others while traveling the globe was shown during his years of bus driving. He drove for Durant Schools, Southeastern Corvettes, Baseball and Basketball, Lone Star Coaches, Music City Transportation a Nashville Company and many other groups including any church trip he could.
Additionally, his care for others continued during years of service extended through working with the Southeastern Police Department, Durant Police Department and the TSA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Brown and brothers-in-law, Bill Orr and Brice Taylor.
Survivors include his mother, Margie Brown of Durant, Okla.; sister, Yolanda Bristow and husband Brad of Durant, Okla.; son Scott Seiber and wife Emily of Austin, Texas; nieces, Holly Marcy and husband John with his great-niece Valorie Taylor of Durant, Okla., Brandy Aryiss and husband Matt of Arvada, Colo., Jennifer Wilcox and husband Shane of Durant, Okla.; dear friend, Trenda Dalton-Evett of Cashiers, N.C.; and numerous cousins and other extended family.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church in Durant, Okla. with Bro. Darel Bunch officiating.
