Marcus Fochik Polk passed from this life on Sept. 19, 2021 at the age of 43. Hecame into this world on Feb. 2, 1978, in Talihina, Okla. to Willard and Sharon Jo (Nowabbi) Polk. He graduated from Bennington High School in 1996 and attended Bacone College in Muskogee, Okla.
He and Krissy Polk raised their beautiful children Ray and Bub in Durant, Okla.
Marcus had a passion for attending rock concerts and had an extraordinary love for the band KoRn. He loved supporting OU football and didn’t mind arguing how good the Sooners were with anyone. He also loved to watch his beloved Atlanta Braves. His greatest joy in life was watching and supporting his kids in all their adventures and activities. He was known for his quick wit, corky comebacks, infectious smile, and the ability to make friends no matter where he was. Marcus had an uninhibited love for life, having fun and spending time with his friends.
Marcus is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Melvina (Roberts) Polk and maternal grandparents, Franch and Nora (Oshter) Johnico; aunts Martha Polk and Verla Hatcher and cousin, Miko Nowabbi.
Marcus is survived by his parents, Willard and Sharon; children: Rayvan & Rhyon Polk and Layla Nicholson; siblings: Kerry (Polk) Steve and husband Morris, Timothy Polk, Micah Polk and wife Natasha, Vivian (Polk) Hopkins and husband Nick; nephews: Sam and Alex Steve, Malachi Polk, Cameron and Caden Hopkins and Axel and Isiah Polk; nieces: Morgan Steve, Mackenzie Polk, Carmen and Casey Hopkins; and great-nieces, Norra Wilson and Isabella Steve.
Family hour will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
A funeral service in his honor will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at the Bennington Baptist Church with Rev. Olin Williams and Rev. Sharon Yeahquo officiating. His final resting place will be the Bennington Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
