He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Mannsville Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon and the song leader. Jackie loved music and singing, playing the guitar, a great carpenter, and collected cans everywhere he went.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Claude Wesley Pilgrim; sister-in-law, Neva Lafon Clark; four brothers-in-law: Ferrell Herndon, Jack Cumbie, Jack D. Jones, and Emitt Clark; two nephews, Bobby Dale Clark and Randy Cumbie and one great-nephew, Jeremy Cumbie.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Susan Pilgrim of the home; son, Mitchell Pilgrim and wife Kasey of Ardmore, Okla.; daughter, Mona Kaye Cunningham and husband Jackie of Springer, Okla.; one sister, Sharon Jones and special friend Virgil Page; four grandsons: Jack “Trey” Cunningham III, Miles “Kade” Cunningham, Logun Love, and Dakota Mays and a honorary grandchild, Lindsey Gaston. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Mona Jo Cumbie, Glynda Herndon, and Nancy Kirk and husband Doug and two brothers-in-law, Eddie Brown and wife Dawn and Tommy Brown and wife Vickie along with numerous other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Madill with Pastor Matt Benedick officiating.
Family hour will be held on Tuesday at Brown’s Chapel from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery with Jack “Trey” Cunningham III, Miles “Kade” Cunningham, Jack D. Jones Jr, Teeleih Bond, Carl Pilgrim, Logun Love, Jackie Cunningham, and Virgil Page serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Mays, Dickson coffee shop drinkers, Ardmore Fire Department, Madill Fire Department, and Dickson Fire Department.
The family requests that all guests please wear a mask due to COVID virus.
