Maxville Weldon Stanglin, 92, passed away at his residence, with his family by his side, on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021. Maxville was born on Aug. 16, 1929 in Colbert, Okla. to Mach Herman and Annie Belk Draper Stanglin.
He married the love of his life, Charlsye Mildred Holder, who preceded him in death.
He attended school at Pearson and Colbert High School where he graduated. He served his country in the United States Army/Air Force and was honorably discharged after 20 years of service. He then worked for Pillsbury Company for 20 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Hwy 91 Church of Christ in Colbert, Okla.
Maxville was a wonderful friend to have. Max was a kind person to everyone he knew. He and Mitzi always loved having friends and family to their home and you were always made to feel welcome. He enjoyed cattle, farming and he also was a great mechanic, most of all his family was his greatest love.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Janice Wren and husband Lynn of Colbert, Okla., Karl Stanglin and wife Debbie of Colbert, Okla., Eric Stanglin and wife Wanda of Colbert, Okla., Nila West and husband Blaine of Colbert, Okla.,;son-in-law, Dale Stanfield; grandchildren: Michael Wren, David Wren, Nathan and Lisa Wren, Matt Wren, Lauri and Rande Jones, Amy and David Frucci, Sarah Huckaby, K.C. Stanglin, Jared and Leslie Stanglin, Matt and Christina Stanglin, Zach and Whitney Stanglin, Melisa and Bobby Read, Tera Maples, Aubrey and Sarah Stanfield, James Standfield, Kaleb and Meg West, Josh West; great-grandchildren: Katie and Ashlyn Wren, Trevor Wren, Preston Wren, Jordon Johnson, Josh Johnson, Mallory and Miranda Jones, Larren and Nadaleigh Rawls, Tyler and Sierra Read, Noah and Nova Stanfield, Tyson Gage Stanglin, Romona Stanglin, Zaylee and Zoe Stanglin, EvaLee and Vera West,
Robert Maxwell and Stella Rose, Jakson Huckaby, Brayden Frucci, Hunter and Weston Stanglin and great-great grandchildren, Abby Read and Jasper Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mach and Annie Stanglin; his wife, Charlsye (Mitzi) Mildred Stanglin; his son, Thomas Weldon (Infant); his daughter, Nova Stanfield; his son, Alan Stanglin; his sisters, Annalee Trice and Nila Trice; his brother, L.T. Stanglin; granddaughter, Demetria Wright and husband Michael and grandson, Jeff Stanglin.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the Hwy 91 Church of Christ in Colbert, Okla. with Brother Robert Scholls and Brother Mitchell officiating.
