Sharon McAdoo Marsh Glenn Wright was born on April 22, 1942, in Madill, Okla. She was the oldest of four children born to Roy McAdoo and Ruth Kizziar McAdoo. She passed away on June 30, 2021, in Kingston, Okla.
Sharon attended Mannsville School graduating in 1960. She later attended Murray State College.
Sharon married James Ted Marsh on May 28, 1961. They had three children, Sherry Dawn, James Ted II (Teddy) and Malynda (Missy) Lou. She spent many hours helping James Ted with his construction business. She often said people would call her the woman with the checkbook because she made sure all the building supplies were paid for.
After James Ted’s death, she married Kenneth Glenn and began her career with Winn-Dixie Grocery Store. She worked for them for 25 years before her retirement. She held many different positions while working there. She started in the bakery as a cake decorator, then moved to other positions: cashier, meat market wrapper, general merchandise manager, front-end manager, back-end manager, and office person. Sharon enjoyed working with the public and was always a friendly face.
In August of 1997, Sharon finally met “Mr. Wright.” She married Dean Wright and they made their home in Azle, Texas, where she lived until he died in 2013. It was at this time she returned to Oklahoma and lived at Lake Texoma. During this time she was a caretaker for several people and worked for her brother at his business, Pharmacy Plus.
Sharon enjoyed bowling, reading, traveling, gardening, crocheting, sewing, and quilting.
She was extremely proud of the children she had raised. She taught them to be strong, loving, resilient, and independent. It is through this that we, her children, have been able to overcome many difficult times. She also passed her love for the beach on to her children.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Sherry Bonnell and her husband Gordon of Lone Grove, Ted Marsh of Mannsville, Missy Smith, and her husband Paul of Mannsville.
Grandchildren: Jeremy Gill and his wife Elizabeth. Autumn Pearce and her husband Chance, Maci McClellan and her husband Shawn. JT Marsh, Britton Marsh, Graci Idleman, Braden Bostic, and Lola Smith.
Great-Grandchildren: Wyatt Hodges, Chandler, and Teddi Kate Pearce, and Lauren James McClellan.
Sisters: Lou Bigger and her husband Walter Bruce, and Rita Kimberlin. One brother: Randy McAdoo, and his wife Marilyn.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; spouses: James Ted Marsh and Dean Wright; two grandchildren: Lauren Smith and Anthony Bonnell, and daughter-in-law, Tara Marsh.
Sharon’s last request was to be cremated and for her three children to privately memorialize her.
God saw her getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so he put his arms around her, and whispered…..”Come with me.”
