The sun came out on Wednesday as the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed another business to the fold.

Northwestern Mutual, represented in Durant by Jasmine Woody, was officially recognized as joining the Chamber in a ceremony at the Chamber’s downtown location.
“Northwestern Mutual is a 153-year-old company,” Woody said. “We are a mutual company, which means we don’t trade our clients’ money on the stock market, therefore we are able to put you in a better financial position.”
Woody, who has a background in accounting, said she starting working with Northwestern Mutual because she wanted to help people.
“We create holistic financial plans for individuals, families and businesses and we also do investments, as well. If you need help with anything financially, please call on me.”
