Leona Mae (Stratton) Spampinato a lifelong resident of Durant, Okla., a beloved wife, mother and sister, left this life in her home on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the age of 69. She was born Nov. 7, 1951 in Durant to Clifford C. and Lena Mae (VanCleve) Stratton. Leona married Mark Spampinato in Mart, Texas on July 30, 1993.
Leona was a member of the First Baptist Church of Durant. She was a 1974 graduate of SOSU before working for J.C. Potter, Plantation foods, and later BrucePac in their business departments. Leona enjoyed sewing, especially dresses for her nieces. She enjoyed traveling and would take her family to unique and educational places. Leona loved watching the birds, especially cardinals, and being involved in the family’s many farm activities.
Mrs. Spampinato is survived by her husband, Mark Spampinato of the home; son, Mark Spampinato, Jr. of Durant, Okla.; brother, Christopher M. Stratton of Durant, Okla.; sister, Joyce R. Weber and Husband Gary of Norman, Okla.; brother, Royce L. Stratton and wife Barbara of Blanchard, Okla.; brother in law, David Spampinato and wife Mary of Mart, Texas; and many beloved nieces, nephews, their spouses and their children.
Mrs. Spampinato was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford C. Stratton (March 11, 1997); mother Lena Mae Stratton (November 14, 2016); brother Clifford C. Stratton, Jr. (July 4, 1949).
