Lorene Faye Patton, 81, of Durant, Okla., went to her heavenly home at 11:22 p.m., Tuesday evening, May 11, 2021 at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center in Dallas, Texas. She was born Nov. 9, 1939 in Bray, Okla. to Edgar and Faye Townsend. She was married to Auston Wayne Patton on Dec. 14, 1957.
After the death of her husband in 1975, Lorene obtained a master’s degree in Education and spent 28 years educating children in the Silo Public School District. Lorene enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a born-again Christian, she loved serving the Lord, and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Durant.
Surviving are their three children: Sandra Neal and husband Dennis of Stephenville, Texas, Melinda Hodge and husband Dewayne of Durant, Okla., and Tim Patton and Crystal Ross of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren: Matt Neal and wife Cheyenne of Holliday, Texas, Stephanie Gardner and husband Michael of Durant, Okla., Caitlin Pruitt and husband Jonathan of Dallas, Texas, Auston Patton of Durant, Okla., Spencer Patton of Durant, Okla., Taylor Patton of Durant, Okla., and one great-grandchild, Kreede Neal of Stephenville, Texas, aong with a host of family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Auston Patton; parents, Edgar and Faye Townsend; brother, Wayne Townsend and wife Shirley, and brother, Aaron Townsend.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday May 17, 2021 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla. with Bro. Andy Hanson officiating. Lorene’s pallbearers will be Matthew Neal, Auston Patton, Spencer Patton, Taylor Patton, Michael Gardner, and Jonathan Pruitt. Her final earthly resting place will be the Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Okla.
