Lester Doyle Beaubien 74, of Colbert, Okla. passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 at his home. He was born May 9, 1946 in Durant, Okla. to William Houston and Nellie Parilee Everett Beaubien.
He graduated from Achille High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He enlisted in the Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He returned from serving his country in 1968.
He then worked on oil rigs for Halliburton in Oklahoma. After that, he was a truck driver taking advantage of the job opportunity to travel and see the country. He then worked as a framing contractor for 30 years building hotels, condos, apartments, and motels in DFW, Grapevine, Waco and Sherman. He then moved to Tennessee to follow the building boom as a framing contractor. Upon his return to Bryan County he worked at Rantec in Durant as plant foreman until his retirement.
He enjoyed spending time with friends and family while fishing, watching westerns, playing music and singing. He excelled at playing the guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin – all self-taught.
Doyle married Wanda Marks and she preceded him in death August 20, 2006 and was also preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Leon, Dewayne, Leonard, Keith and Kenyon Beaubien and brother-in-law Troy McGehee and sisters-in-law, Louise and Regina Baubien and nephew Gary Pat Beaubien.
Surviving are his children: Doyle Beaubien, Jr., Colleen Ray and husband Christopher, Bob Wayne Marks and wife Shelley, Rose Porter and husband Lance; daughter, Sybil Cosson; siblings: Sandra Duncan, Vanitia Cook and husband Johnnie, Larry Beaubien and wife Toni and Elaine McGehee; grandchildren: Zach, Lexi, Mady, Conner, Austin, Andrew, Justin, HD, Justine and Kiowa; great-grandchildren: Allie, Talyn and Phoenix; along with many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Doyle Beaubien will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Cunningham Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Speers officiating.
Graveside Services will follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert. Pallbearers will be Michael McGehee, Bobby Duncan, David Duncan, Freddie Buck, Ernest Buck, John Taylor, Melvin Gibby, Weldon Gibby, Robert Thomas and Brian Cosson.
Family night will be from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 2 at the Funeral Home.
