Eddie Holtzman, of Calera, Okla., passed from this life on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at the age of 72. He was born on Saturday, Sept. 25, 1948 in Hugo, Okla. to Elmer Roe and Mae (Dennis) Holtzman.
He married Edwina Ruth (Harper) Holtzman in March 1997 in Ardmore, Okla.
Eddie had a long career with the railroad and retired as a chief dispatcher for BNSF after 42 years. Eddie was a bull rider and cattle rancher. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was an avid storyteller.
He was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Mae Holtzman; grandson, Corbin Crowder and sister, Diane Dancer.
He is survived by his wife, Edwina Holtzman of the home; son, James Holtzman of Calera, Okla.; daughter, Melissa Crowder and husband Adam of Reeds, Mo.; step-daughters: Monica Brindza and husband Kevin of McKinney, Texas, Carly Knuppel of Cartwright, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Carla (Mason) Holtzman of Ada, Okla.; granddaughters: Amelia Holtzman, Jemma Holtzman, Miranda Brindza, Erin Brindza; grandson, Ian Crowder; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A memorial service and visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 at The Monterey, 224 S. Ninth Ave. in Durant, Okla. with Bro. Brent Smith officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gordon Funeral Home, 221 N. Third Ave. in Durant.
