Peggy Lou Sparks, 76, passed away on Nov. 2, 2020. Peggy was born on Feb. 16, 1944 to Buren Joseph and Maudean (Freeman) Gann in Porterville, Calif.
Peggy was a beautician and she was married to Ben Sparks, the father of her children. She was a volunteer at Orville Hospital Auxiliary and Guild and between 1989 and 2006, and served more than 3,322 hours. She enjoyed crocheting and her favorite football team the Miami Dolphins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Buren Joseph Gann; her mother, Maudean Freeman; her sister, Linda Elam; her brother, Buddy Gann; her sons: Chris Sparks, and Regan (Ringo) Sparks and her daughter Lynette Dollar.
Peggy is survived by her grandsons: Ben Sparks of Eldorado, Kan., Greg Sparks and wife Melanie of Choctaw, Okla.; granddaughter, Britany Sparks of Orville, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Jodi Sparks of Calera, Okla.; niece, Lynne Elam of Calera, Okla.; nephews: Larry Elam and wife Melissa of Stockton, Calif. and Leon Elam and wife Misty of Lakeside, Calif.; grandchildren: Ben Sparks, Brittany Sparks, Greg Sparks, Katie Sparks, Daniel Sparks, Jessie Dollar, Troy Dollar, Michael Dollar, and Chrystal Dollar as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant. Services are under the direction of Brown’s of Durant.
