Jimmy Herbert Lowry of Durant, Okla., passed from this life on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 at the age of 74. He was born on Sunday, January 20, 1946 in Duncan, Okla. to Herbert Claud and Obaleen (Franks) Lowry.
Jim married Marilyn Lyday on September 6, 1966 in Durant, Oklahoma.
He was a longtime resident of Durant, Okla. He graduated from Durant High School in 1964 and a member of the Victory Life Church. He enjoyed watching OU and Dallas Cowboys football. He was a member of U.S. Army from March 1966-March 1968 in Viet Nam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Obaleen Lowry; brother, Jerry Lowry and an infant brother, Ronnie.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lowry of the home; daughters, Donna George and husband Flavil of Durant, Okla., LeighAnn Grace and husband Eddie of Durant, Okla.; brother, Billy Lowry and wife Pam of Pottsboro, Texas; sister, Pat Robinson and husband John of Durant, Okla.; grandsons: Alex Carlock and wife Cara of Durant, Okla., Nathan Carlock of Edmond, Okla., Brandon George of Durant, Okla.; granddaughters: Cecily Wise and husband Chris of Sherman, Texas, Regan Lane and husband T.J. of Durant, Okla., Ellery George of Durant, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Raelyn, Grayson, Alison, Raylee, Brooklyn, Noah and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020 at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. with Michael Robinson officiating.
