Another of the growing group of new businesses on Second Avenue in Durant hosted a ribbon cutting on Friday.

The Durant Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed in The Trippie Hippie Co. with a large crowd on hand.
The store at 211 N. Second Ave. offers a variety of unique items, including women’s clothing and shoes, men’s clothing and shoes, home decor and more.
Owners Chelsea Sweet and Hillary Moody, along with family and staff were on hand to celebrate the occasion.
“Hillary and I have been best friends for quite a long time now,” Sweet said. “We’ve honestly had a lot of crazy ideas about what we wanted to do. But we’ve always had a rather odd sense of style and we wanted to bring that to Downtown Durant, to bring a little piece of our fashion, I guess.”
The Trippie Hippie Co. is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
