DURANT – Another new business on Main Street celebrated its entry into the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting on Thursday.
The Chamber welcomed The Classy Classroom on a warm summer afternoon.
Jennifer Mussett, owner of the store along with husband Josh, is a former teacher in the Bennington school district who taught first, third and fourth grades in her time there.
Her educational supply store sells decorative and curriculum items for classrooms and more.
“I also have quite a few activities, games and manipulatives that people can use at home,” Mussett said. “Whether you are home schooling, doing distance learning this year or you just have a little one that you want to work with this year on something, we have material for that from about two years old through high school.”
She said can also make specific orders, as well, and that she can help her customers by taking care of dealing with the businesses with whom she is making the orders.
“I have catalogs and order pretty frequently for the store. Anytime someone needs something, they can come in and look at the catalog, if I don’t have what they need. We can just get it in the next order and it’s pretty fast. They usually get stuff to me in two or three days.”
“And the best part of it is that I’m the one ordering it. If it doesn’t get here, if it comes damaged, if it’s not what we wanted, then I’m the one who will deal with that.”
The store is located at 316 W. Main St. and is open Tuesday though Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
