Karen Lee Head

Karen Lee (Gregory) Head was born on September 6, 1949 in Bryan County, Okla. to Marvin Wilson and Esta Parylee (Followill) Gregory. Karen passed from this life on July 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 70.

Karen left Bryan County and moved to California and Oregon before returning home to Oklahoma. She was a faithful member of Family Worship Church in Durant and she was outgoing people person. She loved to work in her yard and take care of her flowers. Karen will be greatly missed and loved by her family and dear friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Esta Gregory; husband and father of her children, Larry Head; loving and longtime companion, Dale Vaughn; daughter, Cindy Cox; infant son; five brothers and five sisters.

Loved ones left behind to cherish Karen’s memory are sister Shirley Jackson of Blue, Okla.; brothers, Anthony Gregory of Atoka, Okla. and Warren Gregory of Caney, Okla.; granddaughter, Tanisha Drinnon of Blue, Okla.; great-grandsons, Dustin Dunivan and Elijah Ballard of Blue, Okla. and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral services to celebrate Karen’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Family Worship Center Church in Durant. Evangelist Leon Bilbrey will officiate.

Interment will follow in Bokchito Cemetery with Matthew Sanders, Zackery Greenhaw, Steven Morgan, Brycen Carpenter, Randell Greenhaw and Casey Greenhaw serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Greenhaw and John Teel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8  p.m. at Family Worship Center Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
