Abilene Kelly Reimer, infant daughter of Austin and Amanda Reimer, passed from her mother’s arms into Jesus’ embrace on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 7 months and 20 days. She was welcomed into this world on October 28, 2019.
When reflecting on Abilene’s short life, it is easy to think of all the things she will never have a chance to do. However, we must remember that includes the trials that come with growing up. Abilene will never know heartbreak. She will never feel rejection or shame. She will never feel the grief of loss or the sadness of failure. She will never have to fight a spiritual battle. She will only have the joy and love she felt from her parents, family, friends, nurses, doctors, and everyone else who had the pleasure of meeting or caring for her.
Although Abilene had to face physical trials and pain, her life was full. Full of grace, joy, triumph, and, most of all, love. Now that she is with Jesus, she has been made perfectly whole in every way. Even though she has gone from her earthly home, her life will continue to serve the Lord and his grand purpose.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandfathers Barney Reimer, Sonny Hart, and Michael Chambers.
Family left to cherish Abilene’s memory are her parents, Austin and Amanda Reimer of Madill, Okla.; maternal grandparents, Brian and Kristen Hart of Bokchito, Okla.; paternal grandparents, Kory Reimer of Enid, Okla. and Darrell and Debbie Walston of Marietta, Okla.; aunts and uncles, Kenneth and Ashley Slaton of Mangum, Okla., Alex and Amy Hart of Blue, Okla., and Dillon and Alicen Clark of Bennington, Okla.; great-grandparents, Wendyl and Patsy Parrish of Kingston, Okla., Korene Reimer of Enid, Okla., Bonnita Hart of Blue, Okla., Melvin and Alice Craig of Caddo, Okla., and Joyce Chambers of Denison, Texas; cousins, Kelli and Sam Slaton, Daveny, Bo, and Ryleigh Hart along with other extended family members and dear friends.
Services will be held on 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with David Bullard officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Alex Hart, Dillon Clark, Kenneth Slaton, and Josh Adams as pallbearers.
