Patsy Jean Redden, 81, of Caddo, Okla., a lifelong residence of Bryan County, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 at The Woodlands, Denison, Texas. She was born in Tularie, Calif. on Jan. 6, 1939 to Lowell Williams and Cleo Houk Williams.
She married the love of her life, Paul Gene Redden at the Kemp Church of Christ in December 1958. Paul preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2017.
She attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University after graduating from Kemp High School. She went on to graduate from Draughton’s School of Business in Dallas, Texas. Patsy loved playing basketball, having played on a District Championship team for the Kemp Tigers. She was named All-Conference in 1956-1957. She was recognized at Southeastern Oklahoma State University as one of the pioneer women of Bryan County basketball.
After marrying Paul, Patsy devoted her life to being a wife and mother. She taught many Sunday School classes and was a faithful lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Patsy loved her faith, family and the great outdoors. Patsy also was a deer hunter and turkey hunter. She enjoyed fishing and most any outdoor activity. She was a very hard worker, working along side her husband on their farm, feeding cows, cutting wood, whatever he was doing she was doing too.
She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Redden in 2017; parents, Lowell and Cleo Williams; son, Randell Keith Redden; sisters: Barbara Stulce and Linda Williams.
She leaves behind her sons: Mitchell Gene Redden and wife Karen of Kemp, Okla., Perry Redden and wife Donna of Wimberly, Texas; her daughter; Karen Blackwell and husband Jesse of Bonham, Texas; sister, Peggy Teague and husband Ted of Kemp, Okla.; grandchildren, Erik Patty, Hunter Redden and wife Brittany of Farris, Okla., Tamara Eskue and husband Tony of Bonham, Texas, Kayla Pittman and husband Sam of Amarillo, Texas; step-grandchildren: Seth Blackwell, Alyssa Blackwell, Tanner Blackwell; great-grandchildren: Tanzlee and Whitlee Eskue, Autumn Lynn Redden and other family and many friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Kemp Church of Christ in Kemp, Okla. with Brother Jan Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Kemp Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marty Sinor, Elvin Garrett, Bernie Sinor, Hunter Redden, Garrell Conner and Seth Blackwell.
