Hascal Coop, an Air Force Veteran and minister of the Church of Christ, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, entered into his eternal rest on Dec. 8, 2019, four days after his beloved Dorothy passed from this life.
Hascal was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on June 2, 1934 to Sanford and Pearl (Duncan) Coop. He married Dorothy Spaeth in Dallas County, Texas on April 16, 1954.
Hascal skillfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hascal enjoyed reading and studying. He cherished his beloved Dorothy while wishing she didn’t enjoy Hallmark movies so much.
Mr. Coop is survived by his son, Jeff Coop of Federal Way, Wash.; brothers, Jody and Carl Coop; grandchildren, Zack Coop of Fife, Wash., James Coop of Fife, Wash., Amanda Coop of Durant, Okla., Stephen Coop of Mineola, Texas; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kaylee Johnson of Durant, Okla., and Carter Coop of Fife, Wash..
Mr. Coop was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy L. Coop (Dec. 4, 2019); parents, Sanford and Pearl Coop; sister, Edna R. Coop; son, Gary L. Coop; daughter, Sherry Coop; and great-grandson, Easton James Coop.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Durant Church of Christ in Durant, Okla. with Bro. Layne Heitz officiating.
