Dorothy Coop, a resident of Durant, Okla., entered into eternal rest on Dec. 4, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born in Mason, Texas to Elgin E. Spaeth and Carrie Marie (Nixon) Spaeth.
Dorothy married her beloved Hascal in Dallas County, Texas on April 16, 1954.
Dorothy was a member of the Durant Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, stamping, cooking, and watching Hallmark Movies.
Mrs. Coop was survived by four days by her beloved husband, Hascal Coop, resident of Durant, Okla.; son, Jeff Coop of Federal Way, Wash.; grandchildren, Zack Coop of Fife, Wash., James Coop of Fife, Wash., Amanda Coop of Durant, Okla., and Stephen Coop of Mineola, Texas; great-grandchildren, Matthew Johnson of Durant, Okla., Kaylee Johnson of Durant, Okla., and Carter Coop of Fife, Wash.; sister, Lula Bryant of Irving, Texas; brother, Pat Atwood of Garland, Texas.
Mrs. Coop was preceded in death by her biological father, Elgin E. Spaeth; step-father, (father she knew) Carter Atwood; mother, Carrie Marie Atwood (Nixon-Spaeth); brothers, Carter Atwood, Jr., Jerry Atwood, and Ray Charles Spaeth (Nixon); son, Gary Coop; daughter, Sherry Coop, and great-grandson, Easton James Coop.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 at the Durant Church of Christ with Bro. Layne Heitz officiating.
