Barbara Lynn Comeaux, age 80, of Cartwright, Okla., passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019 at her residence. Barbara was born on July 28, 1939 in Denison, Texas to Leonard (Snooks) Carter and Hautez (Ted) Bowers Carter.
She married the love of her life, Gerald Comeaux on Nov. 20, 1954. To this union, six wonderful children were born. Barbara enjoyed working with people and spent 25 years at Texoma Medical Center in the healthcare industry. After retirement, she worked as a special reading teacher at Colbert Public School.
Barbara Comeaux was a devoted Christian who blessed everyone who ever knew her. She was a life long member of Victory Life Church. She spent her life serving the Lord. She raised and deeply loved her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and many others that she welcomed and embraced as her family. She married the love of her life, Jerry Comeaux in 1954 and she passed away just shy of their 65th wedding anniversary. She had such a loving servant’s heart and will be missed by all who loved her.
Left to cherish her memories are her children: Chris and Theresa Comeaux of Cartwright, Okla., Todd and Pam Comeaux of Cartwright, Okla., Jerri Lynn and Gary Nunley of Colbert, Okla., Kelly and Donald Miller of Colbert, Okla., Stacy Comeaux of Cartwright, Okla., Mike Comeaux of Cartwright, Okla.; her sisters: Betty and husband Bobby Reynolds of Colbert, Okla., Janis Halley of Colbert, Okla.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, other extended family and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Joseph Comeaux in 2017, and her parents, Leonard (Snooks) and Hautez (Ted) Carter.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019.
