70th Gardner family reunion held in Bennington

Descendants of Jeremiah and Clarissa (Leflore) Gardner all gathered June 18 at Old Church in Bennington, where it’s been held for 70 years. Jeremiah and Clarissa came to Indian Territory in 1832 over a journey later known as the Trail of Tears.

In attendance were 50 people including children. Kenneth Gardner received awards for the longest travel and oldest person to attend. Harold Gardner received an award for the largest family. Klayton Flowers received the youngest family member award.

The present slated officers were re-elected:
David Gardner, president; Tyler Gardner, vice president; and Pearl Seaboy (Gardner), secretary

The Gardner family is currently updating their family history book. The Gardner reunion will next be held on June 16, 2024, at Old Church in Bennington, Okla. The Gardner family would like to invite all Gardner family and friends to come join them next year for the 71st family reunion.
