Stephen Alan Byfield

Stephen Alan (Steve) Byfield, of Rosharon, Texas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and family member died in his home on November 24, 2018. Steve was born November 24, 1955 to Charles and Betty Jo (Baker) Byfield in Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents in 2011. Steve is survived by his wife Norma Byfield of the home, daughter Kayla and husband Jacob Dawson, grandchildren Kayden Malcolm Dawson and Krystalynn Gail Dawson, all of Rosharon, Texas, son Kyle Byfield of Wichita, Kansas, sister Nelita (Byfield) Cash and husband David of Muskogee, Okla. and brother Stan Byfield and wife Nancy of Richmond, VA., also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve graduated from Durant High School in 1974 and went on to further his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Science
.
Steve married his wife Norma Kay Wilson March 12, 1983 in Bokchito, Okla., and the couple moved to Texas to work and make their home.
Steve worked in accounting for the oil industry for a number of years and recently had retired from ENI Petroleum in Houston, Texas where he was the Senior Accounting and Reporting Coordinator. Steve had a great love of life and enjoyed experiencing everything he possibly could. He and Norma traveled from Alaska to the Mayan Ruins in Peru, from the California coast to Massachusetts, taking in as many sights and making as many memories as they possibly could. He also had a great love of music and attended concerts all around the United States. His family and friends will always remember him as a hard worker that always did his best and expected everyone else to be the best possible person they could be
Steve’s family and friends invite you to come visit between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 at Brown’s Funeral Home, 4900 W Highway 70, Durant, Okla.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, also at Brown’s Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Bokchito, Okla. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant.
