DURANT – Sean and Sarah Lopes have been operating ShapeUp Texoma for the last two years in Durant, providing an Herbalife menu for their customers and looking to give healthy meal options to those who stop by.

News presented by First United Bank.

That mission is going to continue, but at a new location as the business is moving east from its current home.

ShapeUp Texoma will soon be open at 137B W. Main St. in Durant.

The Herbalife nutrition club has been operated by the Lopes in Durant since Feb. 2016.

“Basically, we’re a community environment where we offer healthier food options in the form of meal replacement shakes and post-workout shakes,” Sean Lopes said. “We also offer calorie-burning and energizing tea – that’s a healthy tea, made up of green teas and black teas and orange pekoe teas, as opposed to some other ingredients that we find in some other typical energy-type drinks. We don’t add the additional components into ours.

“We try to keep it as healthy as possible. That way if somebody wants to come and get some breakfast, lunch or dinner, and they want a healthier option that’s not going to make them feel lethargic after they get done consuming it. They can get that option here.”

Lopes said the options are really for all age groups.

“We have people that come in here from young kids – 2, 3, 4 – to college students, to the elderly. It’s really for everybody. The key factor is that our products are safe for any age, which kind of sets us apart from others.”

He said they are excited about the move to Downtown Durant and the greater flexibility the new location provides.

“It’s going to be a really big change for us. We’ve always wanted to be a part of that atmosphere. As Durant itself grows, we want to grow with it and participate in some of the community events that are going to be happening around the city.

“Our new location is updated, more updated than our current building, so we’re excited in that we’re going to offer more services and more products. It’s going to be a very happy environment in that sense. People can come and just hang out. If they want to do homework at night, they can do that. If they want to lounge out during their lunch hour, they can do that. If they have nothing else going on throughout the day, they can do that, too.

Lopes said he is also excited about the positive changes he has seen with his customers in the time ShapeUp Texoma has been in Durant.

“It keeps us excited and passionate about what it is we do,” Lopes said. “We’re just trying to knock it out one person at a time and change lives in the process.”
