Robert (Bob) Cowan, a resident of Mead, Okla., and veteran of the United States Navy, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Oct. 1, 2018 at the age of 75. He was born in Boston, Mass. to James Edward Cowan and Ethel E. (Moseley) Cowan.

Bob retired from the United States Navy where he served as an Engine Technician. He was very active in the AMVETS, Elk Lodge, Moose Lodge, Shriners, and Masons. Bob enjoyed spending time with his friends while attending the various events sponsored by his clubs.

Mr. Cowan is survived by his daughter, Linda Rampy and husband Bobby of Dallas, Texas; son, Robert Townsend and wife Bonnie of Justin, Texas; grandson, Darrell Rampy and wife Hanna of Dallas, Texas; two great-grandchildren; sisters Barbara Adams of Taunten, Mass. and June O’Neil of Melbourne, Fla.; and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cowan was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Cowan; wife JoAnn Cowan; and brother, James Edward Cowan.

Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM on Thursday October 11th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 PM on October 12th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating.
