One injured in motorcycle accident outside Mead

BRYAN COUNTY – A Mead man was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday morning northwest of Mead.

Joseph White, 51 of Mead, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on county road Newberry Creek when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right and struck a boulder, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

White was transported by Air Evac to Medical City in Plano, Texas, with internal trunk injuries and was listed in stable condition.

The cause of the accident was unsafe speed, according to the report. White was not wearing a helmet.

The OHP was assisted in the investigation by the Bryan County EMS, Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, Choctaw Tribal, West Bryan County and Durant Fire Department.
