Thomas “Tommy” Wyche

Thomas (Tommy) Lucero Wyche passed away July 21, 2018. Tommy was born on July 14, 1935 in Kansas City, Mo., to Dr. Tom and Hazel (Davis) Wyche.  He grew up in Durant, Okla.  He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Southeastern State University in Durant.

Tommy married Jo Ethel Moseley April 2, 1954 in Durant and they were blessed with three children.

On March 1, 2008, Tommy married Susan Jennings of Durant.

Tommy taught school for more than 20 years, mainly in the Taylor, Texas public school district. After retirement from the school district, he, along with his son started WW Construction. After retiring from WW Construction, he worked for the Corps of Engineers as Park Host and maintenance. Tommy always liked to be busy. He loved to travel, read, hunt and fish.  He was a loving wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Tommy served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church in Taylor, Texas and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Solomon Lodge 484.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents and wife Jo Ethel Wyche.   He is survived by wife Susan of Durant; children Debbie Winkelmann and husband Mark of Hutto, Tom Wyche and wife Dolores of Moore, Pam Stifflemire and husband Wayne of Taylor; grandchildren Jill Rogers, Mack Winkelmann and wife Ryan, Marci Winkelmann, Sara Wyche, Jared Holman and wife Ericka, Adam Janak, Lance Janak, Ashley Stifflemire and Matt Stifflemire and wife Amanda: great-grandchildren, Kinsley Rogers, Dylan Withey, Gavin Holman, and Garret Holman.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 at the Highland Cemetery Chapel with Bro. John Breon officiating.
