DURANT – There have been some changes to the building and facilities, but there is a feeling of going home for the people at Magnolia City Dental.

The family and general dentistry practice is moving back to where it opened more than a decade ago at 1706 N. Washington Ave.

Casey Roberts, DDS PC, started the practice in 2007 after being an associate at New Image Dental in Hugo.

His sister, Lori, the office manager who has been with the business since 2010, said the times were right both to leave and also to come back.

“We started having growing pains around 2016 and we added an associate and realized we really were going to have some expansion problems,” Lori Roberts said. “About that time, Dr. (Charles) Bachmann announced his retirement, so we had an opportunity to take over his space (on University Blvd.) and keep his patients happy and smooth out that transition.

“Then our associate ended up relocating and we’re kind of happy just being on our own. So now that we’ve had a chance to renovate and expand our original building, it’s like going home.

Lori said the office has always been cozy. Also, apart from the renovations on the inside, there has an upgrade on the outside.

“We’ve improved the parking,” Roberts said. “The patients loved the cozy office, but they hated the parking. So come and see how much more parking we have!”

After closing at Christmas time, the new/old office opened back up for business on Thursday.

The practice is open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Fridays, with some emergency appointments as needed just before or after the regular business hours.
