DURANT – Durant’s most-decorated organization is getting a little help to continue to represent its school, town and county at a high level.

Billy Sims Barbecue in Durant is giving into the program. The restaurant is donating 10 percent of all sales on Monday nights from

Jeff Langley, general manager of the Durant location said the business just wants to help out with the band.

“I’ve got a son in the band, and a niece and a nephew, too,” Langley said. “I’m not able to give enough of my time to the band, so I just want to be able to do something that is beneficial to them for whatever they need, like instruments or uniforms. We’re just trying to help out in any way we can.”

There are no specific menu items to purchase. The donation comes from the total amount of the bill.

However, during these hours the band card discounts do not apply.

Langley said these donations to the band could continue for a while.

“If we gain enough business off of it and we stay packed on Mondays, I’m going to run it year round.”

Billy Sims Barbecue is located at 2340 W. Main in Durant.
