DURANT – The Durant campus of the Kiamichi Technology Center was recently acknowledged as one of the top schools in the state for its practical nursing program.

According to practicalnursing.org, KTC-Durant was ranked No. 4 of 43 schools in Oklahoma that were analyzed.

Rankings were determined by retrieving the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) pass rates from all the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) programs in the state. Pass rates were analyzed going back to the most recent years of data available up to five years and schools’ pass rates were averaged together and weighted by the recency of the exam.

If schools had the same overall NCLEX-PN pass rates after being ranked, additional program characteristics were then analyzed, including (1) number of students taking the NCLEX-PN, with the higher the number the greater the ranking position, and (2) number of years of test data available, the schools with more years of NCLEX-PN pass rate data the greater the ranking position.

KTC-Durant received an overall score of 99.46 out of 100.
