DURANT – Fusion Bible Church in Durant brings to the community nationally known author, syndicated columnist, radio talk show host and family psychologist John Rosemond at Durant Middle School on Oct. 1-2, 2017. Rosemond is known for his sound advice and relaxed style and is one of America’s busiest and most popular public speakers.

Rosemond will be speaking on “Parenting the Strong-Willed Child” on Oct. 1 from 2- 5:30pm and “Parenting the Strong-Willed Teen” on Oct. 2 from 6:30-8pm at Durant Middle School, He will also give the sermons at Fusion Bible’s Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 1.

“Parenting the Strong-Willed Child” is a humorous, yet thought-provoking seminar, where family psychologist Rosemond describes the so-called “strong-willed child” – oppositional, argumentative, assertively demanding – as presenting a unique challenge to his or her parents. The adjective is synonymous, after all, with “hard to discipline.” In this enlightening and entertaining presentation, Rosemond outlines a virtually fail – safe formula for successful discipline of not only the child who is strong-willed, but any child.

In “Parenting the Strong-Willed Teen,” Rosemond outlines a parenting style that all but ensures that teens will take responsible control of their own destinies during the most significant years of their childhoods and approach emancipation with confidence and purpose. He describes it in terms of a macro-management style that focuses on the “Six C’s of Teen- Proofing”: curfew, cash, car, conflict, consequences, and colleagues (a.k.a. co-conspirators).

Rosemond has authored 18 books on parenting and family life, including his recently released “Grandma Was Right After All!” He has been writing a nationally syndicated parenting column for over 35 years that appears in over 200 newspapers nationwide. His radio program, Because I Said So!, can be heard on American Family Radio networks on Saturdays at 6pm EST. Some of Rosemond’s books include: “Because I Said So!”, “A Family of Value,” and the “Six Point Plan for Raising Happy, Healthy Children.” Rosemond’s common-sensical advice has gained much credibility with today’s parents who are sick of techniques and methods that don’t work.

Sunday and Monday’s events are free to the public. For more information, please contact Arie Downs at (5800 920-9955 or by email at arie@fusiondurant.com.
