Durant boy injured in one-car accident

BRYAN COUNTY – A Durant boy was transported to Fort Worth by EMS following a one-car accident on Thursday afternoon.

William Nunn, 32 of Durant, was driving a 1997 Ford Mustang on Old Highway 70 east of Robinson Road in Blue at a high rate of speed at about 5:27 p.m. when his vehicle exited the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Nunn was not injured.

One passenger, a 9-year-old boy from Durant whose name was withheld, was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth and admitted in stable condition with head injuries.

Seatbelts were in use by both.

The cause of the accident was DUI, according to the report.

The Bryan County EMS and Bokchito Fire Department assisted in the investigation.
