BRYAN COUNTY – On Friday, the basketball teams at Achille, Bennington and Victory Life learned their dance partners for their first games in the 2018 OSSAA playoffs. District tournaments this year will be held on Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10.
Achille and Bennington, both in Class A this year, are heading west of I-35 for district games.
Achille will play district games in Maysville. The Lady Eagles and Eagles will each take on host Maysville in district semifinals on Friday. Cyril awaits the winner in each game.
Bennington travels 125 miles to Velma-Alma for district play. The Lady Bears will face Velma-Alma on Friday in a district semifinal with Hydro-Eakly awaiting the winner on Saturday. The Bears drew Hydro-Eakly on Friday to earn a chance to meet Velma-Alma the next night.
In Class B, Victory Life heads to Mill Creek. Both teams face Wanette on Friday in their first-round matchups. Mill Creek will take on the winner in the district finals.
If a team loses in a district semifinal game, it brings the season to an end. Both winners and losers of the district finals move on to the regional round of the OSSAA playoffs.
