DURANT – A ribbon cutting ceremony by the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce and grand opening celebration was held for new Durant business U-We Designs.

U-We Designs is a locally and family-owned business all about making memories through custom woodworking.

Owners Stephanie and Buddy Swicker work with clients to make their ideas come to life. The shop, located at 209 N. Second Ave. in downtown Durant, also features a variety of other Oklahoma-made products and home décor.

Buddy Swicker said their home décor business is all about feeling good and creating that stress-free day and time.

“We feature candles to custom signs, whether they are wood or acrylic,” Swicker said. “We have glass molding here and we have soaps and lotions, blankets and pillows, all the ‘feel good’ stuff that goes in your home.”

The Swickers moved to Durant from Sallisaw a little more than a year ago. Buddy said his family is absolutely loving the area and invited people to stop by U-We, no matter what the day has been like.

“Come on down, even if you just want to look around and get out of the stressful day,” Swicker said. “Come on in and take a load off. We’re more than happy to talk and visit and make friends. We love that.

“We’re all about customization. You’ll start getting that creative flow of what you want in your home and that’s unique to you.”
