Bryan County driver dies from injuries in car wreck

BRYAN COUNTY – A Bokchito man died on Saturday from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle wreck a week earlier.

Jeremy Howell, 40, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet truck northbound 7 miles north of Bokchito on State Highway 22 at a high rate of speed and departed roadway to the right, overturning approximately four times, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The accident occurred on July 28.

He was pinned for approximately 30 minutes before being extradited by Caddo Fire Department using the Jaws of Life.

Howell had been transported by Air Evac to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas and admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries.

Seat belts were equipped and in use, according to the report.

The OHP was assisted by Caddo Fire Department, Bokchito Police Department, Caddo Police Department and Bryan County EMS.
