Bokchito man among three injured in collision outside Colbert

COLBERT – William Munden of Bokchito was listed in stable condition after his vehicle was struck on State Highway 91 east of Colbert on Saturday afternoon.

Munden was one of three people injured who were transported from the site of the accident, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred when the vehicle driven by Christopher Grace, 33, struck the 2016 Dodge pickup driven by Munden, 28. Grace was traveling west on SH 91 and attempting to turn south onto Chickasaw Road when the vehicle collided with Munden’s truck, traveling east on SH 91.

It was cited in the report that inattention by Grace was the cause of collision.

Munden was taken to Texoma Medical Center in Denison with head and trunk-internal injuries.

Melissa McKinney, 52, of Bonham, was transported by Air Evac to Medical City of Plano with head, arm, leg and trunk-internal and trunk-external injuries. She was listed in stable condition.

McKinney’s husband, Phillip, 54, also of Bonham, was transported to Texoma Medical Center with head and trunk-internal injuries. He was also listed in stable condition.

Neither Christopher Grace, nor wife Summer, both of Stratford, Okla., were injured in accident.

Seatbelts were in use by all involved.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Robby Keeling of Troop E and assisted by Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, Bryan County EMS, Colbert EMS and Colbert Fire Department.
