AllianceHealth Durant announces new full-time ENT surgeon

DURANT – Otolaryngologist,Edward Barns, M.D., is a board-certified ear, nose and throat surgeon. He recently opened a clinic at 1727 Chuckwa Drive, Suite 100 in Durant.  Dr. Barns has been treating children and adults of all ages for more than 26 years. He spent his initial 21 years in Enid, Okla.

Dr. Barns is a graduate of University of Kansas School of Medicine, and completed his Otolaryngology residency and internship at the University of Oklahoma. He is board-certified with the American Board of Otolaryngology head and neck surgery. Dr. Barns is currently accepting new patients in Durant and specializes in the following procedures:

  • Chronic ear infections
  • Enlarged tonsils and adenoids
  • Sinusitis
  • Diseases and disorders affecting structures of the neck and face
  • Fusion Tonsillectomy, a.k.a. thermal welding
  • Tympanostpmy tube placement
  • Allergy testing and treatment
  • Allergy immunotherapy treatments

Dr. Barns and his wife Angie enjoy both OU and OSU college football, baseball and basketball. In addition, they have a love for motorcycles, boating and spending quality time on the lake with family and friends. The Barns have relocated to their Oklahoma roots coming from Missouri.
